The last day to order a 2018 yearbook is Friday, April 13th! We will not be ordering extra copies for sale upon delivery. So you must order now! Yearbooks are $55.

There are 2 ways to pay. You can order online at jostensyearbooks.com or return the order form with cash or check to the high school front office to the attention of Cynthia Coward. If paying by check please make sure you put your DL# on the check. Please make all checks payable to Blooming Grove ISD.

Help support our local FCCLA, FFA and 4-H by attending our annual dinner and auction on Saturday, February 3rd at 7 PM in the elementary cafeteria. You can enjoy a delicious meal that will include fried fish, french fries, hushpuppies, slaw, beans and a variety of homemade desserts. And don't miss out on the auction! There will be lots of great items.
Tickets will be available at the door.

We are seeing many cases of flu and strep. Please help us keep the illnesses down by doing the following:
1. Wash your hands frequently. Soap and water are the best. Hand sanitizer works when you cannot use soap and water.
2. Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue, then wash your hands.
3. Stay home until you are 24 hours fever free without taking any medicine.
Students can bring hand sanitizer and a bottle to drink water out of to avoid sharing germs.
Please remember that returning to school before you are well or fever free makes it easier to get sick again and exposes others to the germs.

The scheduled picture day on Tuesday, January 16th, has been moved to Friday, February 2nd at 7:45 AM.

The nomination window for Gifted and Talented Spring Assessment opens January 8 and runs through January 26 for all 1st through 12th grade students in the district not previously identified for G/T services. Parents, teachers, administrators, counselors, or even the students themselves may complete a nomination form for G/T testing. The nomination forms are available at each of the BGISD campuses. Completed nomination forms should be returned to the nominee's campus by January 26.
Blooming Grove ISD screens all Kindergarten students for the Gifted and Talented Program. No nominations are required for Kindergarten students.

BGISD bus routes and classes will run with a two hour delay on Wednesday, January 17th.

Congratulate to the BGJH One-Act Play company on their great performance in the District 17 3A JH OAP Competition on Wednesday, December 13th. They put on a fantastic show and told a wonderful story. They gave it everything and had the best performance they have given.
"The Yellow Boat" received 2nd place in a field of 7 tough competitors. As well as that, they received the following individual awards.

There will be an early release on Thursday, December 14. Our elementary campus is hosting the UIL contest for our zoned schools. This event takes place on Thursday, December 14th. In order to make sure that we have enough rooms cleared for the event and the students/staff that are attending from the other campuses, the district will observe an early release that day. The elementary will dismiss at 11:45 am with buses running at that time. Buses will run at the junior high and high school at approximately 12:00 pm.
